19th-century art is filled with images of women, portrayed as models, mothers and wives. Towards the end of the century, however, opportunities for women artists gradually improved, and their work began to gain greater recognition. This guided tour explores the role of women in art, both as subjects and as practising artists. Discover works by well-known painters such as Anna Ancher and Bertha Wegmann, alongside lesser-known artists including Anna Sophie Petersen and Emilie Mundt.
